What nannies are saying…

After making the decision to leave the classroom environment, I was looking for a nanny position and came across Your Happy Nest. Using their service is one of the best decisions I have ever made! The process was thorough and it was clear they prioritize making sure the nannies have a safe working environment as well as finding the perfect match for the nanny and family. I am going into year 3 with the nanny family they matched me with! The play dates and nanny days out that they organize are also so fun!

FAQ’s

From vacation sitters to professional nannies, newborns to tweens, we’ve got you covered

  • Short answer: Professional nannies in our areas are seeking $25-35+ per hour. Household manager rates tend to be on the higher end of that scale and newborn care specialists (night nurses) are typically in the $30+ range.

There are many different factors to consider when determining pay. How much childcare experience does the caregiver have? Do they have additional house duties? How many children do you have? Does the nanny have a specialized degree or training certification? All of these factors should be considered when determining what you are going to pay your caregiver. Our agency can advise you on a more accurate pay range during the family consultation.

  • Our process typically takes 2-6 weeks from start to hire date. This can sometimes be shorter or longer depending on the current candidate pool and job details. It is our goal to get potential candidates over for you to review as quickly as possible but we want to ensure we are sending the right candidates your way!

  • Each caregiver fills out a detailed profile which includes their experience, reference information, and asks questions about their caregivings style and what they are seeking in a position. After reviewing their profile and ensuring they meet our agency qualifications, we schedule an in depth interview with them. After the interview, we contact 3 professional childcare references and do a social media and internet screening. After an offer has been made, we run a full background check including criminal record, driving record, sexual offenders registry list and social security verification. We also have the option of our clients adding on a drug screening to their background check for an additional fee.

  • Our agency is a referral agency so we don’t employ the caregivers or pay them through our agency. Your family would be considered the employer and all taxes and pay go directly between you and the nanny.

  • Yes, as a household employer, you are required to pay taxes. Our agency requires all families offer legal pay “on the books” to work with us. We recommend using a payroll service such as GTM Payroll or HomeWork Solutions to ensure you are paying your nanny correctly. They are both wonderful services that specialize in household employees and can help walk you through the process and make everything is set up correctly!
