Speakers:

Amber Noelle (aka “A Nanny’s Life”)

While other industries have community and mentorship practically built in, from human resources, to working alongside coworkers and predictable career trajectories, our industry is only as connected as we make it. Nanny life can be isolating, but you are not in this alone! Let’s have a conversation about how we can better connect with, support and elevate our colleagues while simultaneously bolstering the business of private childcare at large.

About our speaker: Amber Noelle is a career nanny and podcast host based in Atlanta, Georgia. A self proclaimed “regular-degular nanny”, she is passionate about elevating up the nanny industry by cultivating connection and creating community. Her platform is a place where nannies can let their hair down, take their mask off and tend to their own care, mentally, emotionally, physically and socially.

Christa Nader from GTM Payroll Solutions

When a family doesn’t want to pay a nanny properly, some nannies may just shake it off, while others simply tolerate it. Call it what you want, but being paid legally benefits both nannies and families. In this session, you’ll learn to navigate the labyrinth of legal pay, including your tax obligations, the employee benefits you can receive, how to speak now to a family that wants to pay off the books, and much more. Are you ready for it?

Christa is an advocate, educator, and founder, working in the industries that support childrearing for the past two decades. Born and raised in Erie, PA, she obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas Arlington, and taught in public schools for the first few years of her career. Upon moving to New York City, she transitioned to providing care as a nanny and private educator, eventually founding and selling her own nanny agency, KITH & KIN Household Staffing Agency. She has served on the Board of Directors of the International Nanny Association, and has been quoted in The New York Times, CNN, The Lily by Washington Post, as well as featured on several podcasts and in nanny industry collectives. Melding her ability to forge strong relationships with her experience in the staffing realm, she enthusiastically joined GTM Payroll Services as the Agency Partner Manager in 2023. She seeks to be curious, courageous, loyal, and kind, but is really just a regular ol’ human stumbling through life, clinging to fresh air upstate, walks with her dogs, dwelling in maximum silly-mode with her daughter, while beautifying her Brooklyn neighborhood with her block association, and leaning on the kinship of her family and friends.

Dive into an interactive presentation where Catherine will unveil multiple creative ways to integrate music into childcare routines, while exploring the magical link between music and a growing mind. Don't miss this chance to elevate your childcare game with the power of music!

Catherine Bixler is a 12 year career nanny living in Atlanta and a true Georgia Peach! She minored in music therapy in college, and has a passion for singing and using music in everyday interactions with children. Catherine has been a member of multiple cover bands, and it doesn’t take much convincing to get her out for a night of karaoke!
