What part of Atlanta do you live in?

Marietta Georgia with my wonderful family.

‪Where are you from originally?

I'm from Northwest Atlanta. I was born and raised here so I'm an original.

How long have you been a nanny?

I have been a professional nanny for over 20 years.  I have worked for 6 families who I have left a really positive impact on.

Do you have a favorite age and why?

I can't say that I have a favorite age. I have raised children from newborns to teens. Three of the children that I raised have now graduated from college.

Funniest nanny moment:

One of my funny and memorable moments happened when one of my families got pregnant with a set of twins.  The parents sat me and their little girl down to give us the awesome news.  The then-5-year-old looked at her parents and said: " That's awesome! Because Shasha(me) and you will have your babies at the same time. Both of you ladies have humpie tummies." Soooo funny!

Favorite thing about being a nanny:

I love being a nanny, because I love children. I also enjoy watching them grow and being a part of the reason they blossom. Plus the strong connection and bonds I build with my families are forever.

What is your strongest quality as a nanny?

I am a very organized person who believes in good communication. I also provide the children with bottomless love.

‪Favorite place to bring children on an outing in Atlanta:

There are so many things I love to do.  Some of my favorites are: the children's museum, picnics in the park, aquarium. Anything that would make the children happy.

Favorite activities to do with kids on a rainy day:

Sing, dance, arts and crafts. I have played with dolls and doll houses. Race cars and race tracks. I always give the children options.

What is your educational background?

I am a CNA. Graduated from Rutledge  College School of Nursing.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being outside in nature. I'm an organizer for a girls leisure group and we enjoy getting together to try new restaurants.

What special skills do you bring to a family as their nanny?

Organization, safety, love, education, and great communication.

When are you available to start a new position?

I am available to start in the month of April 2017 with a wonderful family.

Your Happy Newborn Care Specialist Atlanta- Vinnette Richardson

Vinnette Richardson

In what part of Atlanta do you live?
I currently reside in Lithonia, Dekalb County.
Where are you from originally?
I'm originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I Migrated to New York City August 2002.  Lived in  Bronx, New York for 6 years, then relocated to Georgia in 2008.
How many years of experience do you have working with children?
Well, I'm a mother to a 24 old son and I started working professionally with children in November of 2002, fourteen years ago.
What made you want to get into newborn care?
I have always loved children especially newborns.. I had my son at a very young age, when I was 19 years and I held him so much as if he was a doll. I remembered when he would just  look at me, his sweetness and gentleness just melted my heart. After I migrated to America,  I realized that there were a need for  my passion, regarding newborns. I did the certification course, got referred to one client  and the rest is history.
Favorite thing about being a newborn care specialist?:
Being a newborn care specialist, I get to empower new parents on how to care for their newborns and after my time with the family has ended, I leave with confidence knowing that I've imparted the necessary skills and knowledge to the parents, so that they can transition into wonderful moms and dads.
What is your strongest quality working with children?
In my profession caring for newborns up to infancy,  one has to have many strong qualities. To name a few I possess: patience, enthusiasm, communication. So far my strongest quality is that I have a very calm disposition. My clients always ask me how I get the baby to be so calm and I often reply "I'm very calm, so in turn that calmness is passed on to the newborn".
Do you have any special certifications or education working with children?
I have a four year degree in business studies,  a certified Newborn Care specialist certification, Pediatric CPR and First Aid, I did multiple advanced newborn care seminars in New York City. I also did a lactation seminar on how to support new mothers, with CAPPA doula trainer/lactation consultant  Gwynne Knapp.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love hanging out with my now 24 year old son and my fiancé. I always love going to the movies, but unfortunately, I usually fall asleep within the first 10 minutes of the movie!
